This is a variation on the coffin hotel idea, which predates their use in cyberpunk. The perfect camping accoutrement when visiting Stonehenge.

Wynne and Tod had their sleep tube shipped from the rack in Battersea to Stonhenge for the five-day festival. It and a thousand others lay near the old car park across the A360 from the dome that now protected the stones. The tubes looked like giant Soar capsules scattered in the grass. |
