"I read this story when I was a junior in high school. It moved me deeply then and still poses questions that I cannot answer to this day. I sincerely wish that it was better known, as I feel the author was right on the money and way ahead of his time. The creepiest sentiment is his fear of sound scoming from the cold water pipe in his basement long after he has disconnected EVERYTHING else in the home."
