Comments on Mcor Matrix 3D Paper Printer
This device prints out three-dimensional objects using regular paper. It seems like only yesterday that I brought home my MX-80. (Read
the complete story)
"It seems to me the 3D printer at the state now that the home computer was in the 70's. I'm looking forward to the day when I can download my new iPhone as well as the music to play on it!"
(Erik Nodacker 11/9/2008 7:23:52 AM) |
"So the only real breakthrough here is the fact that they use ordinary paper to do it. My college has 2 or 3 3D object printers and has had them since 2000 at least. There is nothing that says this machine can fit on a desk and from the size of the E-stop button, this thing looks on par with the rest of them."

"the difference is its 40 times cheaper to run so unlike the machines in your college every student can make a part without having to worry about budget constraints"

"Guys, good comments. I'm wondering how model makers, for example people who like to construct railroad layouts, would think about this. You'd be able to fabricate anything you wanted; you could take existing AutoCAD files for buildings and make great models, ready to paint. Here is a link to more information at the company site: Mcor Matrix printer FAQ. "
