Comments on The Longest Story Ever Told?
Updated with interview. This story will take many generations of human beings to believe and yet it fits on the cover of a standard magazine. (Read the complete story)

"And what is the lifespan of the paper itself? If I make gasoline that will last 1000 years for my car made of banana peels that itself will only last a month, tops, it's kind of a waste, no?"
(Brandon 5/20/2009 4:39:27 PM)
"Sounds about as useful as a lead balloon."
(Paul 5/20/2009 7:27:15 PM)
"Brandon - that's a good question; I'll pass that one on to Keats. Paul - it's a conceptual art project, start conceptualizing!"
(Bill Christensen 5/21/2009 3:28:56 AM)
"I'm sure that if someone wanted to read the story bad enough you would not have to wait 1000 years, instead use some technique to either accelerate the process or read it with alternate methods."
( 5/22/2009 12:47:13 AM)
"I'm a party pooper, I admit it. It doesn't take 1000 years to read. For a thousand years, it won't be completely read at all. Assuming that the complete story is ever exposed to someone who understands the language in which it's written, it will take just moments to read. It's conceptual "art", but what is it symbolizing? This may sound snarky, but seriously: that good things come to those who wait? That if you have to wait too long for something to happen, it's probably not worth it? I can handle some conceptual art, but I don't think I "get" this concept."
(Jake 5/22/2009 12:16:46 PM)
"This guy is obviously brilliant. Bill, "conceptualizing" is too "big" a word for many. Just say "think." Thinking is so fun when you're adept at it. And as difficult to "get" as playing pick-up-sticks with your butt cheeks for those who aren't."
