| "And while there's an immense amount that's not worth the effort to read, there's still some that is worth the effort, and it's not a small quantity, either. One fanfic author I follow wrote over 100k words of fanfic in just over a week. Another I've read wrote over a million words in a single fanfic (unfortunately, that one appears to be dead, so it looks like it'll never be finished).
And fanfic isn't the only thing out there, either. Things like Baen's Free Library and their CD's allow me to read the stories again without having to carry the actual physical book with me everywhere.
