Science Fiction in the News Articles
Related to material in Sagramanda
by Alan Dean Foster

Very enjoyable new book creates a detailed and fascinating picture of a near-future India. Taneer Buthlahee has stolen a cutting edge technology; in trying to sell it he disappears into Sagramanda, a chaotic, sprawling supercity of 100 million people that incorporates game preserves, slums, amusement parks, corporate castles and shops. Foster's imagination has a lot to work with; Indian culture provides a great canvas for him. Don't bother with long reviews of this book; just go read it.
