"With great respect, allow me to say that the text of "In the year 2889" attributed by you to Jules Verne reads an *awful* lot like "When the Sleeper Wakes" by H. G. Wells. For example, the hero's name is Graham, another character is Ostrog, and there are babble machines... Are you really sure that this work is by Verne? Have you uncovered a plagiarism by Wells? Or, perhaps is this an early version of When the Sleeper Wakes that you have mistakenly attributed to Verne?
