Comments on Disappearing Car Door Perfect For Your Motor Coach
You'll forget all about that gull-wing door nonsense after you've seen this one. (Read
the complete story)
"Kaiser used a similar gimmick in 1953 in their Kaiser-Darrin sports roadster. The door slid forward into the front fender, although not fully.
Interesting idea, although in the video and on the website there's no mention of what happens if you suddenly lose electricity."

"This disappearing-car-door concept sounds like a dream come true for me!. I am noise-sensitive and DETEST the noise of door slamming, car or any. I've always wondered why car doors were designed to be so NOISY and decided that people liked it that way and would miss the action and noise of slamming their doors. I might rejoin the outside world if this truly WONDERFUL design ever took off for real. Might it, ever?????"

"Seguin - it's always an interesting question - what is the failure mode for this car door? And who do you call when it sticks? CatBar - I hadn't thought about that, but you're right. I still have two kids at home - and they both slam the car doors."
