Comments on Inferno Sonic Barrier Is A Sonabarrier
The Inferno device is intended to create a barrier impassable by human beings. (Read the complete story)

"Great. Use it to keep birds away from wind turbines."

""...define an area in which human beings could not enter." As long as they don't have a 59 cent pair of earplugs. Or does this freq. somehow penetrate the skull?"
(duG 4/3/2008 1:39:16 PM)
"Andy - interesting idea. It turns out that particular wind turbine designs have five times the mortality rate than others; the average is about 2 birds per turbine per year overall. However, it's also true that birds are killed at a high rate by vehicles, and even just running into windows in houses and buildings. Still a good idea, though."
(Bill Christensen 4/3/2008 2:02:28 PM)
"duG - The entire body is sensitive to vibration, particularly in this range. I used to work for the auto companies, and was able to take course in vehicle dynamics taught by engineers with lots of experience. There is a lot of testing done relating to vibration in the passenger compartment; even at relatively low noise levels, poorly handled vibration can have drastic effects on passenger experience. You'll feel it right in your gut and chest."
(Bill Christensen 4/3/2008 2:06:43 PM)
"That particular frequency range is vital to human hearing. If you can't hear it, other people's voices are muffled and hard to understand. Sounds loud enough to drive people from a room are loud enough to do damage. This sounds like a very dangerous device."
