"Answering your question, yes, I do like macro-engineering, and devices built on that scale. It's one of the reasons (aside from it simply being so good) why I like the old Project Orion, and wish it would actually be built and launched. Using that to carry the startup infrastructure to begin asteroid mining and manufacturing, would allow the buildup of the infrastructure necessary to make it feasible to build Orbital Elevators. And all of those things fit under this category."
