Comments on Live Via 'Hologram' On CNN
Interesting technique used to project the 3D image of a correspondent back to the studio for use in a live broadcast. Not a true hologram, but it looks like telestereo to me. (Read

| "I'm sure that many sf fans will think of Princess Leia; however, here's an earlier movie depiction of a 'hologram' -like image.

"This stuff is all part of early augmented reality adaption. Once the DTV switchover happens in Feb. '09, it's not gonna be just stereographic people, but avatars as well, coming from the user's favorite VR haunt."

"This is a load of crap. They just superimposed her image into the picture, the same as you would do with a weather board, but with many cameras instead of one so they could shoot her from many angles. There is nothing 3 dimensional about it, and she is not actually projected in the studio. It's a special effect, and CNN should not be blatantly lying to their viewers by calling it anything but that."
