| "There's a related section in the webcomic Freefall. Tho it goes a bit farther into analyzing what might happen. Robots take care of most jobs there, including disposal of trash, but, when it comes to disposing of themselves when their "service life" runs out, they've taken to "paying off" the robots at the recycling facility, so that they can go free. (paying the equivalent of what their bodies are worth in scrap, so that the recycling robots don't come up short) Which lead to, among other things, "robot muggings," as the robots that were supposed to run the "end of service analysis" on the defunct robots try to collect, by force, the components that they were supposed to be analyzing."
