Comments on Baha Divino Bone-Conduction iPod Implanted 'Ear Buds'
These are very neat - you can hear them much better than regular ear buds or other such devices, particularly in noisy environments. (Read
the complete story)
"If they can ever bypass my cochlea entirely, I'm ready. Goddamn tinnitus is driving me nuts."

"Indeed, you were reading the story correct. You can plug the hearing aid to any sort of audio device. The standard cord is for 3,5mm audio jacks (most common one) but with the use of adapters, you can plug it to different ports too.
There's also wireless equipments available which allows you to plug in transmitter to your audio device, ie. iPod and then just keep the ipod in bag or something while listening the music without any wires :)
I'm one of the users of BAHA :)"

"I'm still not ready for implantable devices - how do you upgrade them?
"

"Good question; unless you are going to leave some sort of 'port' or 'slot' open to outside the body, you will need to have another procedure to remove the old device and implant a new one."
