Comments on Doctorow's SchoolBook Computers Created By Australian Govt
Waving a red flag in front of the world's hackers, the New South Wales schools will be handing out 'unhackable' computers to high school students. (Read
the complete story)
"Cool article, I think Corey was on the money there. Kids will be downloading these patches in no time!"

"Thanks! It's not just that schools are handing out laptops; this has happened before. But handing out 100Ks of these computers, claiming that they can't be hacked? And installing sophisticated monitoring equipment? I'll bet admins can get a list of every URL accessed by a given student, too."
(Bill Christensen 9/28/2009 9:01:27 AM) |
"I remember Ender and Bean hacking their "desks" in Battle School. I also remember that their activity was tracked by the teachers. They then used the Fantasy game to try and gain insight into the child's mind. Maybe that is next for the admins. Evaluating the student by activity. Just some thoughts."

"Good commment; I forgot about that. I'll try to find a good quote and add it to the index and to the article."
