Comments on Hopfield Neural Net Helper AIs For Astronauts
Wouldn't it be nice to have a kind of 'helper' AI that could go with you and notice things that you don't? (Read
the complete story)
"sounds like the Star Trek's tricord, which the show always used to find "life signs""

"Actually, sounds more like the AI "Personal Assistant Programs" in some SF stories. (in some recent stories, Powered Armor is given an AI to help provide on-the-fly tactical and strategic analysis... and to potentially notice things the human didn't)"
(Ashley 11/3/2009 2:40:12 PM) |
"That last reference was to John Ringo's "Legacy of the Aldenata" Series."
(Peter Jacobs 11/3/2009 3:07:07 PM) |
"Actually to several different stories/series I've read, tho that was one of them. (there were some older ones, but I can't remember right off hand what any of them are, and the Cobra series doesn't really count since it was not supposed to even seem to have a personality, just being a straight "Expert System")"
