EMIEW 2 is an office worker robot from Hitachi; its acronym means "Excellent Mobility and Interactive Existence as Workmate." It does not stand very tall, and intimidates no one; at only 31 inches tall and 29 pounds you won't think about Terminator robots roaming through your office.
EMIEW 2 has a gyrosensor to maintain balance, lithium ion batteries for up to an hour of movement before recharging and a laser system that helps it map out its surroundings. It can also dodge obstacles, including human ones
As you will note, it makes its way on just two closely-spaced wheels; apparently it can also get down on its knees transformer-style.
I sort of liked the original EMIEW; it was more cartoon-friendly (see video below)
