Virtusphere Videos
I wrote a story a couple of years ago about the Virtusphere , a virtual reality machine consisting of a large hollow sphere big enough to walk around in.
(From VirtuSphere immersive virtual reality machine )
Reader Moira pointed out that there are some good videos now available; take a look.
(Single user training for the Virtusphere )
This second Virtusphere video shows two users pitted against each other.
(Multi-user training in the Virtusphere )
The company has installed about twenty of the devices in cities around the world, including Washington
D.C., Moscow, Seattle, Redmond, Saint-Petersburg, Binghamton and Almetyevsk.
Take a look at this article about the Holo-Dek center in Hampton, New Hampshire , which contains a discussion of the Star Trek holodeck experience and technology.
