Huggable Robotic Bear Video

Huggable, the robotic bear companion from MIT, purports to take advantage of our love of animals to lower stress, reduce heart rates and elevate mood.

The Huggable video shown below recently surfaced. Be warned: this video contains pictures of Huggable with his skin off. I can tell you that this will not lower your stress levels.

SF fans recall Purza the Pukha from Anne McCaffrey's 1990 novel The Rowan.

Pukhas, deriving their name from the imaginary companions discovered by needful children, had become widely used in pediatrics... its long soft hair was composed of receptors, monitoring the child's physical and psychic health.
