Kiss Transmission Device Latest In Electro-Communication
The Kiss Transmission Device allows you (yes, you!) to share a kiss over the Internet. Assuming your partner has an appropriately configured Kiss Transmission Device, of course.
And now the video.
(Kiss Transmission Device video)
"If you take one device in your mouth and turn it with your tongue, the other device turns in the same way.If you turn it back the other way, then your partner's turns back the same way, so your partner's device turns whichever way your own device turns.
It is called a bilateral control and the turn angle information is sent reciprocally by both devices to maintain the same position.
Sounds romantic, doesn't it? I'd have to call it a "French Kissing" device, though. Ah, those lonely researchers at the Kajimoto Laboratory at the University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo...
It's about time; Frederik Pohl wrote about transmitting a kiss with a cell phone almost a half-century ago, in his 1965 novel The Age of the Pussyfoot:
"Man Forrester, the personal callers are as follows:
...Adne Bensen: female, Universalist, Arcadian-Trimmer, twenty-three declared, five feet seven inches, experiencer-homeswoman, no business stated. Her kiss follows."
Forrester did not know what to expect but was pleasantly ready for anything.
What he got was indeed a kiss. It was disconcerting. No kissing lips were visible. There was a hint of perfumed breath, then a pressure on the lips - warm and soft, moist and sweet.
Startled, he touched his mouth. "How the devil did you do that?" he shouted.
"Sensory stimulation through the tactile net, Man Forrester..."
Via Technologizer; thanks to Fortigurn for writing in with the tip on this device.
