Stargate $500 Billion Investment in Artificial Intelligence

President Trump, with Oracle CEO Larry Ellison, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and investor Masayoshi Son, have announced a substantial investment in a project they are calling Stargate, to bring the largest possible scale infrastructure for artificial intelligence computing.

Arguably the first instance of the phrase "artificial intelligence occurred in science fiction, in Moon of the Unforgotten, a 1951 short story by Edmond Hamilton:

Grag, the towering manlike giant who bore in his metal frame the strength of an army and an artificial intelligence equal to the human, rumbled a question in his deep booming voice. But Curt Newton only vaguely heard him. His gaze had followed Joan’s out into the alien night. This was not his first visit to Europa.
