Fold Box
A chest that is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. (Read

"This item results from a reader request:
Does anyone at this site know the source of the idea of a fold box? I don't know what author created it, but it is a small box that unfolds to any size. Anything, large, small, or gigantic, can be put in it; then it is folded up and carried in a pocket. As the box is folded smaller and smaller, its contents weigh less and less, so the box can carry anything regardless of weight.
This one from Heinlein is dated 1963; does anyone know of an earlier reference?"
(Bill Christensen 6/22/2006 10:53:46 AM ) |
"Tardis, anyone?"
(Vodie 7/26/2007 3:35:57 PM ) |
"Time.and Relative.Dimensions.In.Space.
And I am not shouting it out the box stores its contents in another Dimnsional framework not in the usual 4 as we know them but more likly one or more of the Dimensions has been rotated at right angles to the others and possibly there are more Dimensions as well inside."
(Christopher Thomas 7/31/2007 5:11:23 PM ) |
"The weight problem might not be a problem provided that only the opening is moving in 4D space and the objects inside reside on a 5th dimension.
The Doctor also had pockets that were bigger in the inside (Runaway bride)

"It also brings to mind the Gods Cornucopia wich was simular."
