"The Vibroblade was mentioned in a novel by Randall Garrett, Unwise Child, as a street weapon. It was described as a turkey-carver with a blade vibrating in the ultrasonic (presumably driven by a really high-powered piezo transducer). The hero, Mike the Angel, used a high-density magnetic field to immobilize it."
