It's a weapon that shoots homing missiles at your enemies' cerebral cortex where upon they will drill past the Cerebrospinal fluid and explode. Definitely both evil and gross. It was inspired by the Tall Man's weapons from the movie "Phantasm".

Here's the movie poster from Phantasm; I'm guessing that this is the bore weapon you're referring to. I've never seen the movie.
