Antenna Repairmen In Fact And Fiction
In the first photograph, NASA astronaut Garrett Reisman performs maintenance on the International Space Station. Held in place by the Canadarm2, he and NASA astronaut Steve Bowen (out of frame), mission specialist, loosened bolts holding six replacement batteries and installed a second antenna for high-speed Ku-band transmissions.

In the next photo, fans of the 1968 Stanley Kubrick film 2001: A Space Odyssey may recognize the iconic space helmet of astronaut David Bowman. He is replacing the AE-35 unit on the main antenna of the spacecraft Discovery.
