Snow Crash And Domino's DXP Pizza Delivery Vehicle

Domino's DXP is described by the company as the "ultimate pizza delivery vehicle" - take a look in this dramatic video.

(Domino's DXP pizza delivery vehicle)

The DXP has seating for one, to make room for custom compartments that stabilize pizzas and secure drinks, dipping sauces, napkins and more.

Equipped with a built-in warming oven heated to up to 140 degrees fahrenheit to keep your pizza hot, from our store to your home.

When the Out for Delivery roof light is illuminated, it means two things: the DXP is en route to hungry customers and it has a delicious meal on board.

Similar to jets, every DXP can be personalized to include its driver's name, call sign, home base and more, to make each one localized and unique.

The Dominoes DXP ultimate pizza delivery vehicle is pretty amazing, but I think that Neal Stephenson nailed it in his 1992 novel Snow Crash; read his description of the ultimate pizza delivery vehicle:

The Deliverator's car has enough potential energy packed into its batteries to fire a pound of bacon into the Asteroid Belt. Unlike a bimbo box or a Burb beater, the Deliverator's car unloads that power through gaping, gleaming, polished sphincters... You want to talk contact patches? Your car's tires have tiny contact patches, talk to the asphalt in four places the size of your tongue. The Deliverator's car has big sticky tires with contact patches the size of a fat lady's thighs. The Deliverator is in touch with the road, starts like a bad day, stops on a peseta.

As he scrunches to a stop, the electromechanical hatch on the flank of his car is already opening to reveal his empty pizza slots, the door clicking and folding back in on itself like the wing of a beetle. The slots are waiting. Waiting for hot pizza.

Be sure to also take a look at the smart pizza box which shows how the pizzas are loaded into the car; I'm looking at you, Domino's!
