Comments on Laser Welding Skin Closure Like Star Trek
Laser welding now useful in the body; this article also includes a handy compendium of Star Trek medical instruments made-real. (Read
the complete story)
"scary how similar those 2 devices look, especially taking into account one is sci-fi and the other is real."

"I was SURE I already informed you of a similar device. I guess I planned to and forgot ...
I really need to get my act together to have any chance close on Moira's lead in number of suggested stories. She beating me to the punch with stories which happen down the street from me !"

"uh gid, since there are only two pictures and afaik no links to other articles, there are no pictures of the actual device for comparison. Both pictures are of devices from Star Trek. This sounds more like maintaining a laser on the wound over a period of time so that the optimal healing temperature is maintained. The wound heals normally otherwise and is not insta-closed."
