Comments on Tweet Your Prayers To Jerusalem's Western Wall
This unusual site will accept your tweets and pass them on; it's an electronic extension of a practice that dates back hundreds of years. (Read the complete story)

"Yeah, those guys just keep finding ways to get more money."
(Sabre Runner 7/24/2009 5:18:09 AM)
"Great for those of us who can't afford to go. Also nice to see religions embracing new technologies and utilizing them instead of scorning them."
(Red Bearded Smile 7/26/2009 6:33:30 PM)
"Don't forget the memorable Electric Monk from Douglas Adams' 'Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency'. This is from the Wikipedia entry: 'Electric monks are coincidentally humanoid robots designed to practise religion in their owners' stead. This particular monk had accidentally been connected to a video recorder and, in attempting to believe everything on the TV, had malfunctioned and begun to believe "all kinds of things, more or less at random", including things like tables being hermaphrodites and God wanting a lot of money sent to a certain address. Since it was cheaper to replace the Monk than to repair it, the Monk was cast out in the wilderness to believe whatever it liked. The Monk also owns a somewhat cynical horse, which he was allowed to keep because "horses were so cheap to make". Upon his arrival on Earth, the Monk has several humorous misadventures.'"
(Fortigurn 7/26/2009 8:15:14 PM)
"Fortigurn, I forgot about that one - read more about Douglas Adams' Electric Monk."
(Bill Christensen 7/26/2009 8:57:11 PM)
"This guy isn't making money from the tweets - he delivers to the Wall for free. Why is prayer from the Western Wall more powerful than from anywhere else on earth? Here's a site that explains why: http://www.jerusalem-insiders-guide.com/western-wall-in-jerusalem.html About 2/3rds down the page, there's a heading "Why is this Jerusalem Holy?" Read it and tweet ..."
