Comments on Buying a Tablet Computer?
I think that tablet computers might just make it this time around. Here's why. (Read
the complete story)
| "I'm writing this on a Toshiba M7 which I have used for years. Its great, but a little heavy with short battery life. If the new Apple (or whatever) can be thin, light and have decent -- at least 8 hrs -- battery life, I'll get one to augment this.

| "I personally would have just one use for a tablet. It would sit on a table at home, and be used as the primary home network interface device. An inexpensive answer to the Windows Surface computer. | "Gateway C-140X. 14.1" Widescreen, Wacom sensitive digitizer, core 2 duo processor (released in 2007). That's what I am currently using to write this comment, and I'm sorry to say that the author did very little research on this subject. Tablet computers, especially convertible tablets (where you still have a keyboard, but the screen can flip 180 degrees and go into 'slate-mode') are still widely used today, and Apple's 10" iTouch will do little other than just being a 10" iTouch. Windows XP has its own TabletPC edition, and Vista and 7 both have built-in tablet input support (Excellent handwriting recognition and an on-screen keyboard) for tablet computers. Toshiba and IBM are two companies (there are many others) have been making convertible tablet computers for years now- The Thinkpad X series is very popular. These devices are untouchable when it comes to note-taking or drawing/art applications, and the stylus is a MUST for this sort of thing. The bottom line is: if you want a small reader, get a Kindle. If you want an MP3 player, buy an iPod touch or a ZuneHD. If you want an actual Tablet Computer that can do everything a current computer can do- AND MAYBE MORE?, you buy a convertible tablet.
