NEC Robot Demands Cash VIa Cellphone FeliCa RFID
We've always known that robots covet our warm flesh - but now they want our money. Via FeliCa RFID-equipped cell phones, no less.
NEC is showing off its prototype robot at the iEXPO 2008 trade show in Tokyo. The electronics giant (NEC, not the robot) is hoping to land jobs as a ticket-taker at amusement parks.

(NEC robot demands cash)
To pay, terrified visitors merely simply select the appropriate e-money icon on the robot’s chest-mounted touch screen panel and then swipe their phone over the reader/writer embedded in the left hand.
Never at a loss for additional features, NEC can also add a camera system that works with a face recognition capability to identify visitors. This information can also be used to recommend specific attractions based on the visitor's apparent age and weight.
Maybe if robots could ask for money, and then collect it via RFID, they wouldn't need to sell their bodies for cash, like poor Bender on Futurama.
