Table Robot Balances On Two Wheels
This table robot balances on two wheels to carry your tray or your drinks. It acts as a robot waiter to bring items to a specific customer location.

The table robot uses inverted pendulum type control to achieve very smooth movement. Table robots can be networked to exchange information on location to better server customers.

Laksmi-Do's table robot was most recently demonstrated yesterday at SEMICON Japan 2008. This clever robot reminds me of the specialized use of R2D2 in the 1983 movie Return of the Jedi, in which he was forced to work in Jabba the Hutt's sail barge as a waiter.
