Undersea UFOs Seen By Russian Navy
The Russian Navy has declassified records of encounters with undersea UFOs during the Cold War. The crews of Russian fishing vessels and naval warships reported seeing a variety of underwater lights and ships moving over the surface at extraordinary speeds.
Their records also detail underwater encounters at Lake Baikal, the world's deepest fresh water lake. Baikal is more than 5,000 feet deep; it is also the world's oldest lake - more than 25 million years old.
Fans of the 1989 movie The Abyss are familiar with the storyline. The events of the film take place near the Cayman Trough, where an American ballistic missile submarine has a close encounter with an unidentified undersea object.
"In one case in 1982 a group of military divers training at [Lake] Baikal spotted a group of humanoid creatures dressed in silvery suits. The encounter happened at a depth of 50 meters, and the divers tried to catch the strangers. Three of the seven men died, while four others were severely injured."
