Geo-View ECG-Shirt - So Close To A Heartshirt
As regular readers of Technovelgy.com are aware, there are particular fictional items that I keep seeing - almost. One of my favorites is the heartshirt, from Rudy Rucker's 1988 novel Wetware:
"It can feel your heartbeat … look." Sure enough there was a big red spot on the plastic shirt just over her heart, a spot that spread out into an expanding ring that moved on over her shoulders and down to her sleeves. Her heart beat again, and a new spot started - each beat of her heart started a new red splash in the blue heartshirt.

(From ECG-shirt)
Geo-View has created a new shirt for sports enthusiasts (and others) called the ECG-Shirt. It has incorporated high-tech foil containing sensors that measure heart rate, yielding an electrocardiogram. No cabling, no adhesive electrodes required.
The recorded ECG data are transmitted directly from the foil to the mobile telephone, through a bluetooth connection. In the mobile telephone, data can be stored or immediately forwarded to the medical Service Center for analysis. On the other hand, the Service Center may also retrieve the latest ECG data for analysis within individually agreed periods of time.
(From The ECG-shirt
The foil is removed when the shirt is washed.
