Meituan put its autonomous delivery vehicles on public roads for the first time this week, while JD.com and Ele.me are sending their robots to quarantine areas.As customer fears about the coronavirus cast a shadow over China’s food delivery industry, several companies including Meituan Dianping, JD.com and Ele.me have announced robot-delivery related services.
I think they should just go full extreme cybertech and create a dope mule robot, a feisty metal sphere that propels itself over any obstacle to make deliveries. From Heavy Weather, which was a really likable 1994 novel by Bruce Sterling.
