Trackable Clothing Now Solar Powered
Trackable clothing that does not require batteries is under development by Covert Asset Tracking Systems Ltd. This sort of clothing is in demand by rescue workers, police and extreme sports enthusiasts who specialize in off-road (way off road) adventures.
Trackable clothing has self-contained GPS locators; it can also sense movement and display flashing LED lights for high visibility. It can be used as a sort of wearable homing beacon to alert rescuers, if necessary.
The main innovation that Covert Asset Tracking Systems Ltd hopes to introduce is a special solar-powered material that is washable and waterproof; this would allow the trackable clothing to run indefinitely with little maintenance.
our aim is to provide people with a means of high-level personal safety which requires little or no maintenance and has minimal detrimental impact upon their working or social lifestyles. For individuals who work or play in dangerous environments, the knowledge that someone, somewhere will know where you are and that you are safe or that they will be alerted if you get into trouble, is going to be invaluable.” Lee Walkey, Managing Director
