"It's hard to tell stories about critters that are not human. John W. Campbell tried it, in "Twilight," and everybody says it's a wonderful story, and nobody ever reads it twice."
- Jerry Pournelle

Superscraper
Buildings that are hundreds of stories tall.

Upper Manhattan remained above water and had become more crowded with buildings than ever, including many new superscrapers, the colorful shapely graphenated towers north of Central Park that thrust far higher into the sky than those in downtown and midtown ever had...

"That's quite a wall of superscrapers! They look like a spur of the Palisades that never got ground down in the Ice Age."

Technovelgy from New York 2140, by Kim Stanley Robinson.

Here's another quote:

For now, the north end of Manhattan is the capital of capital, the proving ground for the new composite building materials for skyscrapers, materials invented for not-yet-happening space-elevator cables but in the meantime great for three-hundred-story superscrapers, needling far up into the clouds, such that when you are in their upper floors, on one of the nosebleed terraces trying to conquer your altitude sickness and looking south, downtown looks like a kid's trainset left behind in a flooded basement. You could bat the moon out of the sky from those terraces.
