I saw these wings intended for a cosplay costume, but I think I see something more.

Any fan of science fiction Grandmaster Robert A. Heinlein would recognize these from his 1957 novel Menace from Earth:
They're lovely! - titanalloy struts as light and strong as bird-bones, tension-compensated wrist-pinion and shoulder joints, natural action in the alula slots, and automatic flap action in stalling.
