The resulting prototype is fragile, but it works. It's built around an ESP32-C3FH4 SoC with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE, and includes NFC read/write support, a 1.54-inch 200 x 200 e-paper display, an accelerometer, and an ultra-thin LiPo battery with charging circuitry and power path management. The creator admits that calling it a computer "might be a little overstatement," though it technically fits the definition. It's not going to replace your laptop, your Raspberry Pi, or even most microcontroller boards, but that's hardly the point. The achievement is making all of this work inside a form factor where even a connector can become too bulky.(Via Techspot)
The Muxcard is actually very similar to Specified Encapsulated Limitless Memory Archive, or SELMA, an extremely small but very powerful computer (described as equivalent to a mainframe) disguised as a credit card. It was a key element in the 1993 TV show Time Trax.
The device SELMA has the same dimensions as a standard 20th century credit card. SELMA's encapsulation has been altered to appear as an AT&T Universal Card credit card, instead of the brushed nickel packaging usually seen on EMAs. With recharge, SELMA's batteries will last 81.3 years.
When in visual mode SELMA appears as a 3-D holographic projection of a woman modeled after a photograph of Darien's mother.
