"In science fiction one can say a great many things that are unpalatable, … because it's expressed as science fiction you can slip it past their defenses."
- Frederik Pohl

Diagnostic Sleeve

I thought this was an interesting variation on the automatic bloodpressure cuffs that are becoming more common. Instead of just taking a bloodpressure, the diagnostic sleeve probably takes more data, and will also perform medical interventions if necessary.

Bury's vision swam. He pulled the diagnostic sleeve out of his chair arm and inserted his arm, hoping mobody would notice. Orange dots blinked, and he felt the coolness of a tranquilizer injection.
