This is the point in the article where I'm supposed to tell you how it works. Here's the scoop, straight from the website FAQ:
Q: How does it work?A:`We don't know! ...the manufacturer... said something about "electro-gobbledi-googescence" and "sound activated power unit..."
I still like it, though, because it reminds me of the heartshirt, from Rudy Rucker's 1988 novel Wetware:
"It can feel your heartbeat … look." Sure enough there was a big red spot on the plastic shirt just over her heart, a spot that spread out into an expanding ring that moved on over her shoulders and down to her sleeves. Her heart beat again, and a new spot started - each beat of her heart started a new red splash in the blue heartshirt.
