| Voight-Kampff Test | ||
| A test intended to distinguish human beings from replicants. |
In the film, replicants (android copies of human beings) are given the Voight-Kampff empathy test; this distinguishes them from human beings.
| Tyrell: "Is this to be an empathy test? Capillary dilation, the so-called blush response? Fluctuation of the pupil... involuntary dilation of the iris?
Deckard: "We call it Voight-Kampff for short."
