"I would say 75% of the economy is now being run by ex-science-fiction fans."
- Greg Bear

Retinal Vid-Screen
A tiny display surgically implanted directly in the retina of the eye.

Morris is pursued without mercy by robotic salesmen, one of whom wants to make sure he doesn't miss anything newsworthy.

"All the news while it's news," a metallic voice dinned at him. "Have a retinal vid-screen installed in your least-used eye. Keep in touch with the world; don't wait for out-of-date hourly summaries."

"Get out of the way," Morris muttered. The robot stepped aside for him and he crossed the street with a pack of hunched-over men and women.
