Anne McCaffrey:

Anne McCaffrey (b. 1926) is an American writer who graduated cum laude from Radcliffe, majoring in Slavonic Languages and Literatures. She studied voice for nine years. She is a winner of the Hugo and Nebula awards; most recently, she was named Grand Master of the Science Fiction Writers of America in 2005. She currently resides in Dragonhold-Underhill, Wicklow County, Ireland.
