Russel Conwell Hoban (b. 1925 - d. 2011) was an American-born writer and illustrator, living in the UK from 1969. After serving in World War Two, he worked in advertising and television until the mid-1960s, becoming a full-time writer in 1967, continuing to publish until his death.
