Miles John Breuer (b. 1889 - d. 1945) was an American writer and physician who served in the US Medical Corps in World War One, and who began publishing science fiction in 1927, featuring the first of several physician protagonists.

John Stewart Williamson (b. 1908 - d. 2006) was an American writer who began his career in 1928. Williamson was born in Arizona and raised on an isolated New Mexico homestead.
