Leigh Brackett:
Science Fiction Technology and Ideas
Leigh Douglass Brackett (b 1915 – d. 1978) was an American writer, particularly of science fiction. She was also a screenwriter, known for her work on such films as 'The Big Sleep' (1945) and 'The Empire Strikes Back' (1980).

In 1946 she married Edmond Hamilton, who had been active as an sf writer from the 1920s.
