L. Ron Hubbard:
Science Fiction Technology and Ideas
Lafayette Ronald Hubbard (1911-1986) wrote many science fiction novels, as well as philosophical and self-help books (which served as the basis for Dianetics and Scientology). A highly controversial figure, many of the 'facts' of his official biography are disputed. His sf writing career spanned the science fiction pulp magazines of the 1930's and 1940's and the publication of the Mission Earth tetralogy in the 1980's.
