"This gadget should be named in honor of the late, great U.S. writer Clifford D. Simak, the first science-fiction visionary to showcase a Robomow-like device in his 1950 novel "City"."

"Despite the fact that this description by Simak basically "spec's out" what you would need in a robot lawn mower, the founders of Robomow found inspiration elsewhere.
Udi Peless writes "I read a few science fiction books when I was younger but can not say
that this has inspired me. My dad was an engineer and I think that this was the main influence."
He also remarks that he does not recall reading about robot lawnmowers - so no conflicts about prior art there!"

"We love our robotic lawn mowers. We have a Robomower that does our backyard and a Lawnbott that does our front and side yards. They do an absolutely amazing job. You can check out some great reviews at bamabots.com"
