Comments on Dancing HRP-4C Robot Uncanny Valley Girl
This robotic dancer is a real trouper; 'her' movements are artful and realistic. (Read the complete story)

"Here's 2009 video showing the HRP-4C robot singing.

"

"I still think the hands are overly large, but as far as the dance goes, it was rather nicely choreographed. Being able to lift and balance on one foot on the fly is something I haven't seen before. I kept wondering if the girls behind HRP-4C were feeling upstaged. Has anyone seen this yet?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WRXYqFbWXg True, it's a much smaller bot, but the proportions make more sense."

"Here's the video you gave me the link to; as you mention, viewers should keep in mind that this is a small, doll-sized bot.

"

"Didn't Fritz Lang's Metropolis have the lead robot character as a dancer at one point?"
(seguin 10/18/2010 6:49:26 PM)
"It was rather impressive though if they had articulating hands and an outfit that covered the legs it wouldn't have felt so robotic. Even so, I was very surprised that it was able to keep up with a rather swift beat. Very nice."
