Science Fiction in the News Articles
Related to material in The Cobra Event
by Richard Preston

Gripping (I can't be held responsible for those who have made this word into a cliche) techno-thriller set in the present day; it describes an attempt to spread an engineered virus in the United States. After reading this novel, President Bill Clinton ordered an intelligence analysis of the book; the book clearly affected White House policy regarding bioterrorism. Highly recommended.
