Douglas Adams was born in Cambridge (UK) in 1952. His most famous work is The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy; it originally started as a BBC radio series. He was awarded a Golden Pan for Hitchhiker in 1984. He died in 2001 of a heart attack; he was only 49.
